Working individually and as Material Being, Lucy and Barbara provide a unique combination of textile experience.

Lucy Goffin’s background is embedded in textile creation; her intricately detailed and machine and hand-stitched work sensitively pieces together layers of fabric and colour. 

​

Fashion design trained Barbara Kennington has enjoyed a long career tracking colour and fabric trends. Her more recent work explores landscape drawing abstracted as hand-stitched work.

As Material Being, Lucy and Barbara recognise our increasing desire to wear individually crafted garments that directly connect the wearer with the makers by creating unique and contemporary embroidered clothing pieces that withstand the pressure of time and fashion.
